News       1 February 2021

Hello February!

During these last few weeks, we have taken a bit of time to reflect on a year that none of us will easily forget. We have momentarily hit the pause button to navigate this latest lockdown with our children and process the ups and downs of the last few months. Like so many other small businesses, we’ve been met with a wide range of challenges we never imagined we’d ever have to face. Luckily though, with the help of our amazing staff and incredibly supportive customers, we feel blessed to have been able to make it through 2020 with a smile still on our faces.

Many of our guests used our TPT @ Home take away meals through the first and second lockdowns and were enthusiastically adopted in place of usual restaurant visits. We gained lots of positive feedback which was gratefully received and gave us a huge boost to keep going. This is a lovely review from one kind Arundel regular customer.

“We have had a couple of delicious meals at the Parsons Table recently – one before lockdown in the restaurant and another takeaway – both were fantastic. I am vegetarian and they always amaze me how creative the dishes are…! Their attention to detail is no different with the takeaways, which are wonderful and a real treat at the moment. We are so lucky to have such a great establishment on our doorstep.”

We have received many enquiries regarding when TPT @ Home will start again. After much deliberation we have decided not to offer this service for the time being, however, we will be assessing it on a weekly basis. Once we have a better understanding of how and when the restrictions will be eased, we hope to offer our food in this way once again.

It would also be short sighted of us not to give our suppliers a well-deserved shoutout. During each period of renewed restrictions, they continued to go above and beyond to provide us with the freshest seasonal produce when supply chains were stretched to their very limits. We look forward to working with them all again this year, bringing our customers the absolute best West Sussex has to offer.

Even though we have been unable to open the restaurant yet this year, we have at least been able to utilise the time positively to refresh our online presence. Designed by Arundel based graphic designer Susan Robertson, the website has been rejuvenated with a relaxed yet refined feel that we hope reflects the dining experience of The Parsons Table. We hope you like it!

Lastly, we’d like to share some really good news we have received whilst being closed. Not only have we held on to our AA 2 Rosette status but we have also retained our Michelin Guide ‘plate’ listing! We must thank our team for this brilliant achievement during what has been a very turbulent time, it’s all about teamwork!

Ultimately, we have a lot to be thankful for and can’t thank our guests and staff enough for the support and loyalty we have been shown. With the latest news of the fantastic effort of the vaccine rollout, here’s hoping 2021 will be a brighter year soon.

Thank you,

Liz & Lee
